St. Teresa Learning Center: A Beacon of Hope
Our flagship educational effort is the St. Teresa Learning Center, a school built in collaboration with local leaders to serve the children of Kassunga. What began as a single building has grown into a thriving campus with classrooms, dedicated teachers, and dreams in every direction.
Each new classroom built is more than just bricks and mortar – it’s a commitment to future leaders, doctors, teachers, and community change-makers. Through strategic growth and donor support, the school continues to expand, welcoming more students each year.
Tuition Support & Student Sponsorship
While public education may be free, many Ugandan families still struggle to afford necessities like uniforms, books, exam fees, and meals. KMI provides tuition assistance and sponsorship opportunities so no child is left behind due to financial hardship. Through these programs, individual donors can directly impact a student’s journey from primary school through higher education.
Teacher Empowerment
Great teachers build great futures. That’s why KMI also invests in supporting and retaining educators through fair compensation, continued training, and even the construction of safe, dignified teacher housing. When teachers are respected and supported, children thrive – and so does the entire learning environment.
Educational Resources & Innovation
Beyond the basics, KMI seeks to equip students with tools that prepare them for the future. This includes:
- Supplying textbooks, school supplies, and learning materials
- Establishing a solar-powered computer lab to bring digital access to students for the first time
- Providing desks, blackboards, and safe learning spaces
